ACCESS AND PROVENANCE

The Nathan-Kraus Family collection was donated to the American Jewish Archives by the families of Mrs. Marion N. Sandor and Dr. Walter Kraus. Property rights to the materials are held by the American Jewish Archives. Literary rights have not been dedicated to the public. Literary rights to materials are held by the individual author or his/her heirs. Questions concerning rights should be addressed to the Director of the American Jewish Archives.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE top

The Nathan-Kraus Family collection consists of genealogical and biographical documents pertaining to colonial Jewish families and individuals. Includes diaries, deeds, wills, marriage contracts, historical sketches, business papers, checks, receipts, tax lists, lawsuits, church and synagogue records, Government records, notes on Jewish heraldry, and copies of letters written by early immigrants. The collection is arranged primarily in alphabetical order, according to the family's last name. The papers fall under one series: GENEALOGY.
