David B. Alpert was born in 1899. In 1929 he was ordained as a rabbi at the Jewish Institute of Religion in New York. Alpert was a long time resident of Brookline, Massachusetts, serving as chaplain for many area hospitals. David B. Alpert died in 1982.
Notes on the Kohelet Rabbah and a scrapbook of articles from Alpert's newspaper column, The Weekly Sedrah.

The David B. Alpert Papers are open to all users. The original manuscript collection is available in the Barrows-Loebelson Reading Room of the Jacob Rader Marcus Center of the American Jewish Archives.

The Klau Library, Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion, by the act of donating the David B. Alpert Papers to the American Jewish Archives, assigned all property rights to the American Jewish Archives. Literary rights are retained by David B. Alpert and his heirs. Literary rights may also be retained by specific creators of materials.
