Biographical Sketch

Leonce J. Kosminsky was born in Texarkana, Arkansas, on January 2, 1877. He received his MD degree from the Univerity of Maryland and served in France during World War I as a medical officer where he attained the rank of colonel. After World War I, he returned to Texarkana where he was active in Jewish communal affairs, local civic affairs, and the American Legion. He died, May 2, 1953.


Scope and Content Note

Collection consists mainly of scrapbooks with clippings pertaining to Dr. Kosminsky's participation in World War I, and later, his activities as an American Legion officer, medical doctor, and Jewish communal leader in his native Texarkana. Collection also includes photographs and a small amount of correspondence.
