Biographical SketchBorn in 1922 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Arthur Plaut graduated from the University of Cincinnati following service in World War II. After graduation, Plaut remained in Cincinnati and became involved in advertising, public relations, and sales promotion, as well as radio and television. In 1967 he moved to San Diego, joining the staff of United Way. Arthur Plaut died in 2006. Scope and Content NoteThe Arthur Plaut papers pertain to his work in Jewish communal affairs in Cincinnati, Ohio mostly during the 1950s and 1960s. Included are files on his work in the Associated Jewish Agencies, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Jewish Community Center, Jewish Family Service Bureau, Jewish Vocational Service, Jewish Welfare Fund, the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, and the American Red Cross.
